CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Zoey Sullinger, of Jacksonville, Texas, has been identified as the pedestrian killed in Cherokee County Friday morning.

Sullinger, a 22-year-old mother of a baby girl, was fatally struck by a vehicle in Jacksonville Friday morning.

According to reports, Sullinger was operating a vehicle on the 900 block of South Bolton Street in Jacksonville, when the vehicle pulled over. Sullinger then exited the vehicle and appeared to be “looking for something lying in the road,” was she was struck by a passing vehicle Friday morning.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and fully cooperated with arriving authorities.

Sullinger was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
