LEE COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Joseph Martin Kelly, of Sanford, North Carolina, has been dead of an apparent suicide after being sought by officials in the November 29 fatal shooting of his father, Randy Martin Kelly.
Joseph Martin Kelly, 23, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday in a wooded area on Buckhorn Road in Sanford.

Joseph Martin Kelly had been wanted for murder after his 65-year-old father was found unresponsive inside his residence at 4701 Buckhorn Road in Sanford.
Joseph Martin Kelly was originally listed as a person of interest in the investigation. On December 8, 2022 Lee County Sheriff’s Office Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Joseph Martin Kelly for the murder of Randy Martin Kelly, according to officials.
