BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Jeremiah Brogden, a Baltimore City high school student athlete, has been identified as the victim in a Friday fatal shooting after the final bell rang outside Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School.
According to police, an unnamed 17-year-old was formally charged with 1st degree murder and is being held without bail at a Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services facility after Brogden was shot multiple times as school let out Friday.

The school is located at 3500 Hillen Road in Baltimore.
Last night, a Twitter account called “Mervo High School Football” tweeted out:
“Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the loss of our student athlete, Jeremiah Brogden. Senseless and unexplainable. Please keep the Mervo staff and students and his family in your prayers.”

Details are limited, however, police said the suspect is a student from a different Baltimore school.
Brogden was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounce dead of gunshot injuries.
