FRANKLIN COUNTY, VT. (THECOUNT) — Winona Jette, of Richford, Vermont, has been identified as the victim in a Monday morning fatal vehicle crash in Franklin County.
Jette, 61, was killed – and another woman was injured – in a two-vehicle crash in Sheldon Monday morning.

According to reports, Jette was operating a Chevy Malibu on Route 105 near Route 236 in Sheldon, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and came into head-on contact with a Subaru Outback, operated by 69-year-old Heather Skilling of Richford.
Jette was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
Skilling suffered multiple broken bones and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
