SHELBY COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — David Pleasant has been identified as the Memphis Fire Department firefighter killed in an on-duty crash in Shelby County Wednesday night.
Pleasant, 59, was killed while on his way to a fire Wednesday night in Memphis. Three other firefighters were injured in the wreck.

According to reports, Pleasant and three other firefighters were rushing to a fire in the 500 block of Cambridge Avenue in Memphis, when Memphis Fire Truck 5 came into contact with a pickup truck near East E.H.Crump Boulevard and South Danny Thomas Boulevard.
The three other firefighters were transported to the hospital. They have since been treated and released.
The driver of the involved pickup truck, who ran a red light, was also hospitalized in unknown condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
