MARIN COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Sherman Wayne Chen, of San Francisco, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday fatal e-bike crash in Marin County.
Chen, 67, was killed in a single-vehicle e-bike crash in the San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve Tuesday afternoon.

According to reports, Chen was operating an e-bike on the Bay View Trail in the China Camp State Park, when for unknown reasons, the bike plunged down a steep ravine.
Officials located the crash around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. They later concluded Chen had experienced a “long fall” while operating an e-bike.
Chen, who was a Systems Senior Manager for PG&E, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
“A forensic postmortem examination with toxicology testing is scheduled for later this week,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
“The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the California State Parks Rangers and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office – Coroner Division.”
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
