SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Elijah Norvel James Briggs, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a fatal incident Sunday in Spartanburg County.
Briggs, 17, died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center early Sunday morning.

According to reports, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office was summoned to the hospital on a call of a deceased teenager around 2:30 .m. Sunday. Officials learned that Briggs had been transported from the Norris Ridge Apartments, located at, 100 W Imperial St in Spartanburg.

Briggs’ death has led to an investigation by the Spartanburg Police Department.
The Spartanburg Police are now actively investigating what led up to the injury and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
