NASSAU COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Robert Maraj, the father of entertainer Nicki Minaj, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal Friday hit-and-run vehicle collision in Nassau County, New York.
Maraj, 64, died after being struck in a hit-and-run accident near Mineola on Friday night.

According to reports, Maraj was on-foot in the area of Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue in Mineola, when he was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.
Maraj was transported to an area hospital where he later died of injuries suffered in the collision.
Minaj confirmed her father’s passing, but did not comment further.
No suspect or vehicle information was provided by officials.
