ORANGE COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Eugene Harbrecht, of Santa Ana, California, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday fatal two-vehicle crash in Orange County.
Harbrecht, 67, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a possible street racer late Thursday morning.

According to reports, Harbrecht was operating a Ford Ranger pickup truck on North Bristol Street near West Santa Clara Avenue in Santa Ana, when the vehicle was struck by a BMW traveling at high speed around 11:45 a.m. Thursday. The Ranger then caught fire.
Harbrecht was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the racing BMW was transported in unknown condition.
Another vehicle involving in the street race fled the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
