NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Jannon Gail Rogers, of Wilmington, North Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Monday night in New Hanover County.
Rogers, 45, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle while walking in Wilmington on Monday night.

According to reports, Rogers was on-foot in the area of Hillside Road near Carolina Beach Road, when she was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene around 10:50 p.m. Monday.
Rogers was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Evidence at the scene of the deadly incident led troopers to a Chevrolet pickup. The operator of that vehicle, 30-year-old Austin Taylor Hall, was taken into custody and charged with driving while impaired and felony hit and run.
Hall was booked where he remains on a $20,000 bond. Additional charges are possible, according to officials.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
