CHEROKEE COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Jimmy Dean Williams, of Blacksburg, South Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck while pushing a moped Wednesday night in Cherokee County.

Williams, 32, was killed while pushing a moped near Blacksburg Wednesday night.

According to reports, Williams was on-foot, pushing a moped in the 2100 block of South Charleston Street in Blacksburg, when he was struck by a passing pickup truck around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured in the collision.

No one was cited at the scene.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
