MIAMI, FL. (THECOUNT) — Miami native, Soul singer, Betty Wright, has passed away. She was 66.

Wright passed away on the morning of May 10, the singer’s niece, Heavy is reporting.

Wright’s cause of death has not been made public. On her official profile on Universal Music’s website, it’s written that Wright “influenced a generation of female singer-songwriters and continues to influence the world of hip hop.”

Wright recorded her debut album at the age of 15, “My First Time Around.” Wright’s most successful hit “Clean Up Woman” peaked at #2 on the R&B charts and #6 on the Billboard pop charts in 1972.

A cause of death was not provided.
