ADAIR COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Jeremy Lane Trichel of Menlo, Iowa, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday night vehicle crash in Adair County.

Trichel, 39, was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash near Orient Friday night.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Trichel was operating a custom 1946 Ford F-100 on Highway 25 near Orient, when the classic vehicle came into head-on contact with a Ford Astro Van operated by 40-year-old Elijah Daniel Davis of Orient around 5 p.m. Friday.

Reports indicate, the Astro Van crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes.

Trichel, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Davis was transported to an area hospital with serious unknown injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
