COLLIER COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Gary Dines, of Naples, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday crash in Collier County.

Dines, 66, died in a two-vehicle crash near Naples Wednesday afternoon.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Dines was operating a vehicle on Vanderbilt Beach Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then collided head-on with a vehicle operated by 37-year-old Brenda Kabrit.

Kabrit and a toddler passenger were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. An adult man and a child also riding as passengers, were transported to area hospitals in serious condition.

Dines, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The crash was not alcohol related, according to troopers.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
