PUTNAM COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Rhett Timothy McCool, of Palatka, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Putnam County Sunday night.
McCool, 19, was killed and a young woman critically injured, in a single-vehicle crash near Palatka Sunday night.

According to reports, McCool was operating a pickup truck on Browns Landing Road, when he failed to navigate a curve around 7 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then exited the roadway, entered a culvert and made contact with a substantial tree causing it to rollover.
Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected during the violent crash.
McCool was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
His 20-year-old female passenger was transported to an area in unknown condition.
