STATESVILLE, NC. (THECOUNT) — Teyhonnah Dye has been identified on social media as the North Carolina woman fatally shot in Statesville Saturday morning.

Dye, 20, named as “TeyHonnah Daye” by a local media outlet, was shot and killed early Saturday morning in Statesville.

According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1100 block of Fifth Street around 2:31 a.m. When first responders arrived, Dye was found in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

Dye was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

According to reports, at least 50 people may have witnessed the shooting.
