MONSEY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Multiple people have reportedly been stabbed in an attack on a Rabbi’s home in Rockland County, NY Saturday night.

Multiple reports confirmed a man entered the Shul of Rabbi Rottenberg in Monsey and stabbed at least five people Saturday night. It is unknown if the Rabbi was a victim.

The man reportedly pulled out a machete to attack the victims during a Chanukah celebration. The suspect reportedly chased after victims as they fled the home before running off and escaping in a nearby vehicle, reports CBSLocalNY.

“UPDATE AT 10:45PM: YWN has confirmed that the attacker was wearing a scarf covering his face. 4 victims were stabbed – 1 of them in critical condition. He fled in a Nissan Sentra plate number HPT 5747. If you have any information, please contact Ramapo Police immediately.”

First responders are on the scene and are treating the victims. The extent of the injuries are not known at this time.
