AURORA, CO. (THECOUNT) — Colorado KNUS 710-AM talk radio has canceled its “Chuck and Julie,” show over Tuesday comments made by one of the show’s popular hosts, which consists of a husband and wife team.
Chuck Bonniwell, of Chuck and Julie, said in an on-air conversation with his co-host Julie Hayden, that the impeachment process was “never-ending,” and suggested a “nice school shooting” to curb the coverage.

“You know, you wish for a nice school shooting to interrupt [it],” Bonniwell was during a Wednesday broadcast of the show.
Hayden quickly interjected Bonniwell’s comments in their Tuesday afternoon program.
“No, no. Don’t even – don’t even say that. No, don’t even say that,” she told Bonniwell. “Don’t call us. Chuck didn’t say that.”
Bonniwell quickly added that he wouldn’t want anyone to be hurt before the conversation moved on with a caller.
The clip was removed from the podcast as of Wednesday afternoon. 9NEWS downloaded the audio prior to the edit.
“Given the history of school violence that has plagued our community, 710 KNUS confirms that an inappropriate comment was made on the Chuck & Julie show by co-host Chuck Bonniwell. A programming decision was made to end the program immediately,” station management said in a statement Wednesday night.
Bonniwell later issued a brief statement on Twitter Wednesday night. He said the original comments were meant as a joke, reports WTOL.
“I made an inappropriate comment meant as a joke. I’m sorry it was not received that way,” he said.
