MOORE, OK. (THECOUNT) — Emily Gaines, of Moore, Oklahoma, has been identified as the victim killed in a two-vehicle crash involving Moore police officer Kyle Lloyd. Lloyd was off duty at the time and was in his personal vehicle, officials said.

Gaines, a senior at Moore High School, was killed after she was involved in a crash near Southeast 134th Street and Sooner Road in Oklahoma City on Saturday. The young woman was reportedly on her way to complete her college admissions test when the fatal crash occurred.

Officials with Moore Public Schools confirmed that Moore Gaines was killed in the crash:

“It is with great sadness and heavy heart that I share with you, one of our students – Senior Emily Gaines, passed away yesterday as result of a tragic car accident. We have been in contact with Emily’s parents and have shared our school’s deepest sympathies.

All students will be informed of Emily’s passing by their first hour teacher tomorrow. Moore High School School Counselors and Moore Public Schools Mental Health Therapists will be available and ready to assist students as they express their feelings and grieve.

It is unknown if the officer involved suffered any injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
