MOUNT JULIET, TN. (THECOUNT) — We are now learning more tragic details from a fatal incident Saturday at the Mt. Juliet Christmas parade that resulted in the death of 7-year-old Rowan Ace Frensley.

The boy’s father, Art Frensley, 44, of Nashville, was behind the wheel of the vehicle that ran over his son, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report released Monday.

The lad was killed on Saturday when he fell out of a trailer at a staging area at the end of the Christmas parade and was run over.

The THP crash report released identifies Art Frensley of Mt. Juliet as the driver of the 2014 Ford 150 pulling a trailer at a low rate of speed preparing to unload passengers from a trailer after the Mount Juliet Christmas parade, reports Tennessean.

The youngster was struck by the trailer tires.

The incident took place about 12:30 p.m. Saturday and emergency crews fought through the crowded parade area to treat the boy, police said.

Rowan was transported to Vanderbilt Pediatrics were he later died, the THP reported.
