PHENIX CITY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Jasper Miller has been identified as the Phenix City, Alabama man accused in the shooting death of his nephew on Sunday, according to reports.

Miller, 32, shot a man to death who Phenix City police say was his nephew, Kishard Miller.

We earlier reported the victim as the suspect’s uncle, we have now learned the victim was the suspect’s nephew.

Miller was taken into custody on Dec. 2 at approximately 11:00 p.m. after officers were dispatched Sunday to the 1300 block of 8th St. South at approximately 12:33 a.m. on reports of shots fired.

Kishard Miller was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Miller is currently being held in the Russell County Detention Center on murder charges, reports WTVM.
