PAYNE COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Frank Margason of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Shelayna Knott of Orlando, Oklahoma, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal Yale police-pursuit crash in Payne County Wednesday, according to reports.

Margason, 77, and Knott, 28, were both killed in a crash involving Tommy McClendon Jr., who has been identified as the suspect operating a stolen pick-up at the time of the tragic crash.

McClendon, 23, ran a stop sign while being pursued by police and struck the vehicle the victims were traveling on State Highway 51 just outside of Yale in Payne County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says, McClendon was under the influence of drugs while being chased by Yale Police.

After the crash, McClendon jumped from the stolen truck and ran into the woods. He was captured later by authorities, reports PublicRadioTulsa.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Two other individuals traveling in a Honda Passport were injured.

A child passenger walked away with only minor injuries.

An 18-year-old Drumright girl, riding in the truck, was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.

McClendon was booked into the Payne County Jail at Stillwater.
