AUBURN, AL. (THECOUNT) — Ibraheem Yazeed, the man who was wanted in connection with the disappearance of Alabama student Aniah Blanchard, has been arrested in Escambia County, Florida.
U.S. Marshals in Montgomery, Alabama called the U.S. Marshals after receiving a tip that Yazeed was possibly in the area of Pine Forest and I-10 in Escambia County.

On Thursday, Auburn Police Department identified, Yazeed, 30, as a person of interest in the case of missing 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard, from Montgomery, Alabama, according to Thursday reports.
Yazeed appeared to suffer facial injuries in his latest mugshot. It is unclear how the injuries were obtained.
On Thursday afternoon police said a warrant has been obtained for his arrest for the charge of Kidnapping in the first degree.
Auburn police announced that the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task force along with other agencies are actively searching for Yazeed, reports ABC3340.
Disturbing details were released last Thursday in the search for missing 19-year-old Blanchard as police confirm evidence located in her vehicle indicate Blanchard was “harmed” and the victim of foul play.
Investigators said Thursday that evidence discovered inside Blanchard’s vehicle, recovered in Montgomery on Friday, determined Blanchard was injured and is considered to be a victim of some form of foul play.
“The Auburn Police Division continues to diligently investigate the disappearance of Aniah Haley Blanchard who was reported missing by her family on October 24, 2019. In that effort, Auburn and Montgomery Police as well as nine other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies working on the case are operating as a task force,” said Captain Lorenza Dorsey
Investigators say, a black 2017 Honda CR-V belonging to Blanchard, 19, has been recovered at an apartment complex.
“The Auburn Police Division and Montgomery Police Department are still requesting assistance from the public regarding any information on the location of Aniah and her vehicle between Wednesday, October 23, 2019, and today,” said Dorsey.
Law enforcement sources say Blanchard’s vehicle was located in an apartment complex off Atlanta Highway.
Auburn police are working with Montgomery police to process the vehicle at the scene.
Blanchard is still missing.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in determining the whereabouts of Blanchard.
She was reported missing to Auburn Police on Oct. 24. She last communicated with a friend on Wednesday night, Oct. 23, just before midnight. Police have said her vehicle was seen in the early morning hours along South College on the 24th, reports WRBL.
An investigation into determining her whereabouts is now entering day two. Friday afternoon investigators said there is no evidence of foul play; however, the investigation will continue until her whereabouts are determined. It is not known if finding the vehicle will change the tone of the investigation.
Aniah is described as a light-complexioned black female, 5’-6”, 125 lbs., brown eyes, and brown hair and was last seen wearing a black dress, tan duck boots with black stockings.
