AMHERST, NY. (THECOUNT) — Charles R. Durante, the Buffalo man found injured in the middle of North Bailey Avenue near Grover Cleveland Highway in Amherst on Monday morning, has died after being transported to an area hospital, according to reports.

Amherst Police say, Durante, 43, was found injured in the roadway after officials responded to a report of a man down near North Bailey Avenue and Grover Cleveland Highway Monday morning around 6 a.m.

Police say they are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the incident that occured in the morning hours of Monday.

Durante was transported from the scene to ECMC by ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.

Police are currently investigating the source of the victim’s injuries.
