CEDAR RAPIDS, IA. (THECOUNT) — Chicago, IL man, Reginald Ward Jr., has been identified as the victim found fatally shot in Cedar Rapids, IA, on Wednesday morning, according to reports.

Authorities say, Ward, 27, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound at an eastern Iowa convenience store on Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred before 8 a.m. Wednesday at a Kum & Go in Cedar Rapids.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired. When they arrived, officials discovered Ward wounded.

He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead on Thursday of gunshot injuries.

Investigators think Ward was specifically targeted, reports KWWL.

Police are looking for a car seen leaving the store.

Suspect description and motive in the deadly incident were not provided by officials.

No arrests have been reported.
