KANSAS CITY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Going head to head against Game 5 of the World Series on Fox, the Chiefs’ game averaged 18.3 million TV-only viewers on NBC, while Astros-versus-Nationals – World Series had 11.4 million TV viewers, making it the best showing ever by “Sunday Night Football” against the World Series, reports TotalProSports.
The Kansas City Chiefs took the field last Sunday Night without their injured starting quarterback, and even though they put up quite the fight, they still lost a close game to the Green Bay Packers. That particular contest was also a blowout in the ratings.

NBC also noted that the Chiefs-Packers game beat the WS coverage in 38 of 42 metered markets.
