SUMTER COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Qwantise Abrams has been identified as the man killed in a motorcycle-versus-SUV collision Friday night in Sumter, according to reports.

According to police, “Tubby” Abrams, 32, was operating a motorcycle on North Lafayette Drive with another rider when an SUV made a left hand turn in front of them Friday night around 7:30 p.m., according to officials.

The driver of the other motorcycle has not been identified.

Abrams was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver of the SUV, Darrell Bennett, 26, another passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, reports WISTV.

Police say they are searching for the other motorcycle driver, who left the scene on-foot and may be injured.

The collision remains under investigation.
