SUMTER, SC. (THECOUNT) — The search is over for five-year-old, Nevaeh Lashy Adams, after the South Carolina girl was found in a landfill, according to Tuesday reports.

Adams was reported missing after police found Sharee Bradley, 29, dead in their Sumter apartment.

Sumter police believe Neveah and her mother, Sharee Bradley, were killed on August 5 at their home at the Lantana Apartments by 29-year-old Duante Johnson. Johnson was located a short time after the killings, reports WLTX.

Police were called after 6 p.m. Monday after Bradley, 29, was found by a family member inside her Lantana Apartments residence. Family members have been notified by the Sumter County.

Officers say Adams is 4 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 50 pounds.

Lantana Apartments is located at 861 Carolina Ave # 40, in Sumter.

Bradley’s cause of death was not provided.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday

A suspect, Daunte Maurice Johnson, 28, who was seen fleeing the residence, is now in custody. It is unclear what, if any, role he might have with the missing girl, reports WLTX.

Anyone with possible information on the incident should call police at 911 immediately.
