LAKE WORTH, FL. (THECOUNT) — Malcom Hodges has been identified as the suspect arrested in Lake Worth Beach after assaulting a visibly pregnant woman during a D Street robbery, according to Saturday reports.

Hodges, 29, is accused of throwing the victim to the ground, punching her in the stomach and then stealing her purse while the woman walked on D street in Lake Worth Beach.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) says the victim, a pregnant woman, was walking south on D Street in Lake Worth Beach at 11:50 a.m. when the suspect, Malcom Hodges, grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground and punched her in the stomach (knowing she was clearly pregnant). PBSO says he then grabbed her purse and fled southbound on foot, reports WPTV.

Deputies arrived and established a perimeter in the area where Hodges was located and arrested.

When questioned, Hodges confessed to committing multiple robberies “to people” in Lake Worth Beach area when he “ain’t got no money,” according to arresting officials.

He was booked into the Palm Beach County jail and charged with Robbery – No Firearm Or Weapon, and Aggravated Battery – Offender Knew/Should Have Known Victim Was Pregnant. He is being held without bond.

According to PBSO, the victim is in good condition. Test are to be performed on the mother in relation to the unborn child.
