EMERALD ISLE, NC. (THECOUNT) — Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was not the only coastal town hit by a powerful tornado Thursday, the Town of Emerald Isle, North Carolina was also hit by a damaging twister that was caught on a homeowner’s Ring Doorbell Thursday.

Luckily, no one was injured, but lots of property damage was reported after a Hurricane Dorian-spawned tornado blasted through Emerald Isle on Thursday morning.

Jason Sawyer says his Ring doorbell camera caught the moments the tornado barreled past his home at Emerald Isle. ‘Our home was destroyed,’ he said.

As we reported earlier, Emerald Isle town officials shared photos after the tornado ripped through the area, sending motorhomes flying and severely damaging the Boardwalk RV Park near Salty Pirate Water Park in Emerald Isle.

The park is located on Reed Drive, in Emerald Isle, NC.

“Shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, Emerald Isle experienced a waterspout / tornado,” Emerald Island Public Information Officer Matt Zapp said. “There is property damage in the vicinity of Island and Reed Drives. Boardwalk RV Walk suffered the most severe damage.”

Meanwhile in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a tornado appeared to touch down Thursday morning.

The apparent twister was spotted by Wayne White, who shared video with local news outlets.

The video was taken Thursday morning in the area of Ocean Drive and 2nd Avenue South in North Myrtle Beach, White said, reports WBTW.
