HITLAND, (THECOUNT) — Grammy Award-winning songwriter, LaShawn Daniels, has reportedly passed away. He was 41.
Daniels penned numerous smash hits, including Monica “The Boy Is Mine,” Destiny’s Child “Say My Name,” Lady Gaga “Telephone,” and Michael Jackson “You Rock My World,” has reportedly passed away.

His cause of death has not been revealed.

Affectionately known by collaborators and fans of his penmanship as Big Shiz, Daniels had an impressive career that spanned over two decades. Among others, he worked with Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Brandy Norwood, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, George Michael, the Spice Girls, 50 Cent, and Tamar Braxton. Daniels won a Grammy in 2000 for “Say My Name.”
In response to the news, fans of LaShawn’s work flooded Twitter with their condolences to his family. “The entire music community is feeling the loss of one of the greatest to ever do it,” tweeted Kirk Franklin. “We was supposed go crazy next week,” said Kehlani. “Appreciate you for fu**in’ with me OG… Your legacy will never be forgotten!”
