SIMPSONVILLE, SC. (THECOUNT) — Chelsea Annette Simpson, of Taylors, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a rollover crash on I-385 North between Simpsonville, SC, and Mauldin, SC, on Tuesday morning.

Troopers said the crash occurred at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday between the 30 and 31 mile markers after Simpson’s Honda, for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then struck a concrete median wall and rolled over.

Simpson, 20, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle during the violent crash.

The coroner said that Simpson was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Reports say Simpson was on her way to when the fatal crash occurred.

All lanes of I-385 were shut down and traffic was detoured onto US 276 while troopers investigated and worked to clear the wreckage. By 10:45 a.m., the wreckage had been cleared and all lanes were back open, reports FoxCarolina.
