GREAT BEND, KS. (THECOUNT) — The armed men who prompted the evacuation of a KC Walmart on Sunday, did “nothing wrong,” according to officials and the guns they were in possession of, were legal, including the displaying them inside the store.

“Walmart does not have signs posted that prohibit guns from being brought in the store,” the KCPD said.

Authorities evacuated the Walmart in Great Bend Sunday after someone reported two men with guns had entered the store, located at, 3503 10th St, in Great Bend, KS.

Two men were later located inside the store with handguns in their waistbands.

Officers eventually determined that no offense had occurred and the men were released from police custody at the scene.

The men cooperated with police and stated that they were there to purchase ammunition for target practice, reports KCTV5.

They were not identified.
