DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. (THECOUNT) — Lisa Ellenburg Ramsey, of Rock Hill, SC, has been identified as the human remains found in the Dominican Republic on March 23, 2019.

Ramsey, 49, was reported missing in December of 2018 after her family received a letter from the airlines indicating her luggage was waiting to be picked up in America.

Authorities in the D.R. only searched for Ramsey 8 days and eventually ruled her death as suicide, with little or no remains recovered, according to sources.

In March 2019, her family was contacted by the US Embassy and informed that her body had been found “hanging.”

Her son traveled to the D.R., with a bodyguard, to provide DNA to investigators.

Ramsey’s son say the family has received no answers or updates on what happened to the beloved woman.

In March, Dominican official claim Ramsey’s remains were found in “a state of bones,” near Duarte highway, in the section that connects to the municipality Puñal.

A D.R. doctor determined that the death occurred due to “choking by hanging.” It is unclear how D.R. officials reached that conclusion.

The family is now demanding answers from Dominican officials.
