BIRMINGHAM, AL. (THECOUNT) — Jameria Howard and Danny Hagler, both of Birmingham, Alabama, have been identified as the victims in a Saturday night murder-suicide that occurred at separate locations in Birmingham.

Howard, 28, was found lying in a parking lot suffering from gunshot injuries after police police responded to the area of 800 block of 30th Street South on a call of shots fired around 11 p.m. Saturday night.

A short time later, police received another call of shot fired in the 600 block of 5th Place Pratt, where they found Hagler, 34, suffering from gunshot injuries.

Birmingham Police detectives are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.

Officials determined that Hagler shot Howard and then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle to the second location where he took his own life.

Howard was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries..

Howard and Hagler were involved in a relationship and lived together at the home in the 800 block of 30th place South, reports CBS42.

The night of the shootings police learned that Howard and Hagler began arguing before the first shooting that injured and ultimately killed Howard.

The incident remains under investigation.
