BOHEMIA, NY. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Gallagher, of Bohemia, New York has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Bohemia, Sunday night, according to officials.
“Chris” Gallagher, 42, was struck and killed while on-foot in the area of Oakdale-Bohemia Road, in Bohemia, Suffolk County, NY, after 9:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Suffolk County police said, Paul Inzirillo was operating a Nissan Altima on Oakdale-Bohemia Road, when the vehicle struck Gallagher on the Sunrise Highway overpass at about 9:45 p.m., reports NewsDay.
Inzirillo, 24, of Sayville, initially fled the scene of the collision, however returned about 20 twenty minutes later, police said in a statement.
Gallagher was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
The Nissan was impounded for a safety check.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555. All calls will be kept confidential.
