FAYETTE COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Valeria Nelson, of Huntington, West Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Kentucky on Monday morning.

Nelson, 50, was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle when it crashed on Interstate 75 southbound to Interstate 64 eastbound at the southern split, around 8 a.m. in Lexington, Kentucky.

Police believe the driver lost control because of wet roads, reports WSAZ.

No information has been provided on the driver’s condition.

Investigators say speed did not appear to play a factor in the crash, as the driver was going about 55 mph in a 70 mph zone.

The Lexington Metro Police Department say the investigation is ongoing.
