LAWRENCE, MA. (THECOUNT) — Chloe Richard of Amesbury, Mass, has been identified as the body of a teen girl brought into a hospital emergency on Monday, say family members.
The Essex District Attorney’s Office said Richard, 13, was transported to the Lawrence General Hospital emergency room, located on General Street, in Lawrence, MA, at 4:47 p.m.

She was pronounced dead a short time after arrival.
Richard’s stepfather told reporters that the family learned the news when a friend called them saying the 13-year-old was at the hospital.
“The lady at the hospital told me, she goes, ‘You know, she had no pulse when they brought her here,’” Brian Dolan said. “And as soon as I heard that I was like, ‘What? You got to be kidding.’”
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is performing an autopsy Tuesday to determine the cause and manner of death, reports WCVB.
“It’s sad, it really is sad,” Dolan said through tears. “This little kid crying. Poor grandparents … it’s so complicated,” Dolan said.
There have been no arrests, but officials say they have information about who brought the girl to the hospital.
“Our hearts go out to this family, and we are cooperating fully with the police investigation,” Lawrence General said in a statement.
The cause and manner of death were not immediately known, officials said.
