ADEL, IA. (THECOUNT) — Dallas County Paramedic, Dan Lindsay, has been identified as the first responder who died following an undisclosed medical condition.
Lindsay, whose are was not provided, was a 19-plus year paramedic at Dallas County EMS, in Adel, Iowa.

No other information on a cause of death was made available.
Coworkers at Dallas County EMS took to Facebook to remember Lindsay:
“It’s with a heavy heart this morning that we announce the passing of Paramedic Dan Lindsay. Dan passed away from a medical condition while off duty. Dan will be sorely missed by his Dallas County EMS coworkers and the lives that he touched here in his 19 plus years. Rest easy brother, we’ll take it from here.”
Friends and family members also took to Facebook to remember the beloved man:
Jennifer Filipiak via Facebook: “Wow, my heart is aching….I’ve known Dan and worked with him over many years…We worked together for many years at UnityPoint Health Des Moines (Iowa Methodist Medical Center). I worked there for 16 1/2 yrs and Dan was probably there just as many, if not more. Dan has been a staple in Central Iowa EMS for a very long time. He was caring, loyal, hard working, funny, great attitude, not to mention an awesome and skilled Paramedic. It’s with a very heavy heart that I have to say RIP Dan Lindsay………you will be missed……”
