HENDERSON COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Jaylon Ward has been identified as the Texas man killed following a Thursday night shooting near Lake Palestine. A 41-year-old woman was also injured during the fatal incident.
Natalie McKenzie was critically injured and Ward, 21, killed in a shooting at a home on Valley View Drive in the Brierwood Bay Subdivision, around 10:05 p.m Thursday night.

Deputies responded to Valley View Drive on calls of shots fired. Upon arrival, a man and a woman were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds inside the dwelling.
Ward was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.
McKenzie was transported to an area hospital where she is listed in critical but stable condition.
Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Milton Adams ordered Ward’s body be sent to Dallas for autopsy, reports 11Alive.
No arrests have been made at this time and no suspect or motive information was provided.
The investigation is ongoing.
