PHOENIX, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Harry Ellsworth Stephens has been identified as the victim in a crash involving a motorcycle Friday evening in north Phoenix.

Stephens, 49, was operating a motorcycle traveling on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix, Arizona, when he entered the intersection at Greenway Parkway and collided with a Toyota Corolla.

The crash occurred before 5 p.m. when Stephens and his 22-year-old female passenger, both wearing helmets, were thrown from the motorcycle.

The passenger was critically injured and transported to a local hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

Stephens was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries.

Officials said that the driver of the Toyota, a 71-year-old woman and her passengers, two small children, remained on the scene and cooperated with arriving officials.

They were not injured in the collision.

Impairment nor speed were factors in the crash, according to AZFamily.

This investigation is ongoing.
