CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Clarence Fowlkes has been identified as the Chesterfield man found dead Monday.
“Click” Fowlkes, 58, a disabled Army veteran, was discovered slain late Monday inside his Chinaberry Drive apartment after family members became concerned about his welfare, according to richmond.com.

“We talked to him every day and we’re pretty close to him, and we hadn’t heard from him,” said Chelsea Higgs Wise, his niece. “And so my aunt and my stepmother went over there and found him. My aunt has a key.
“And it looked like somebody had hurt him and stolen his car,” Wise said. “We are devastated.” source
Fowlkes was found dead in his home in the Chesterfield Village Apartments, Located at, 700 Chinaberry Dr, in North Chesterfield, VA, near The Boulders office park.
Police have not released a cause of death, however, Fowlkes’ family believes he was beaten to death.
Police said Fowlkes’ body had signs of trauma, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine his cause of death.
