WARRINGTON, PA. (THECOUNT) — The hit-and-run driver who mowed down an elderly female pedestrian walking near Warrington, PA, Route 661, has been apprehended at his Plumsteadville residence.

Police in Bucks County say, Arturo Guzman-Jimenez, 31, is the suspect in custody after a 79-year-old woman was struck and killed in a hit and run Tuesday evening. The suspect told authorities he fled the scene over a “fear of being deported,” according to police. He was also found to be intoxicated.

Police say the victim was walking near her home along Route 611 when she was struck by a white Kia Sportage that was heading north. The vehicle continued down the roadway, fleeing the scene. Warrington Township police say about an hour after the incident they were able to track the suspected driver down at his home in Plumsteadville. Investigators also say the Guzman-Jimenez displayed signs of intoxication and submitted to testing. The driver also did not have a driver’s license and told officers he “had fear of being deported,” police say.

Police say they were able to track down the vehicle so quickly after the incident occurred in part because of the amount of car parts that were left behind at the scene.
