BOND COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Gavin Cody Twitty, of Highland, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash near Lagrange Township on Saturday.

Twitty, 22, was killed after his car exited IL-127 near Greenville, Illinois, and struck a utility pole around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, authorities said.

Following the crash Twitty became entrapped inside a 2008 Chevrolet passenger vehicle, authorities said. He was extricated by Greenville Fire and Rescue.

Twitty was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma consistent with the violent crash.

Gavin Cody Twitty 22 of Highland, Illinois, formerly of Witt, passed Saturday November 10, 2018 the result of a single car accident just outside of Greenville, Illinois at 11:32 pm. Gavin the son of Scott Allen Twitty and Jennifer K. Lemanski Twitty was born February 5, 1996 in Hillsboro, IL. He is survived by his parents and siblings Dylan, Kyle and Luke all who lived at home with Gavin. Also 2 grandmothers survive Shirley Lemanski and Gloria Twitty both of Nokomis. Gavin had attended St. Louis Catholic School in Nokomis and then graduated from Hillsboro High School.While in high school he was in track and wrestling but loved being a running back for the football team rushing for more than 2800 yards. He was presently attending SIU-E and working nights for UPS. He had been in the Illinois National Guard and was on the Brute Force and Ignorance Mercenaries RUGBY team out of Maryville, IL.

Funeral mass will be held Thursday November 15, 2018 at 10:30 am in St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis with The Very Rev. Albert Allen V F officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Nokomis. Visitation will be in the church from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday.
