BEREA, SC. (THECOUNT) — Tamija Alissa Hawkins of Greenville, SC, has been identified as the pedestrian struck Friday night in the Berea area of Greenville County.

Hawkins, 31, was killed in a collision with a vehicle while walking along White Horse Road near the Sunshine House on Friday.

The victim was transported code 3 to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.

The driver stayed on-scene and cooperated with the investigation.

No one was cited and no charges have been filed in the case.

Troopers say the pedestrian, later identified by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office as 20-year-old Tamija Alissa Hawkins of Greenville, was heading west while crossing White Horse Road around 10:48 p.m. The person was then struck by a 2009 Honda coupe traveling south on the road. source

The coroner, along with SCHP, say a death investigation is ongoing.
