HOUSTON, TX. (THECOUNT) — Gabriel Pereyra, of Houston, TX, has been identified as the suspect accused of stabbing his 67-year-old mother to death after she refused to cook him a meal.
Pereyra, 34, was arrested by Harris County deputies on Friday — the same day his mother was found lying on the ground outside her apartment, bleeding from the head.

The sheriff’s office said Pereyra stabbed her while she was seated in a chair. She then ran outside for help, collapsed and died on the sidewalk shortly after 5 p.m. Deputies found Pereyra inside the apartment covered in blood, according to a press release from the department. source
Pereyra told investigators he wanted his mother to prepare him some food and then put a kitchen knife to her throat, according to local press.
Pereyra is currently being held in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility awaiting arraignment.
