FOLEY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Debra K. Estep has been identified as the DUI driver suspected of killing a pregnant woman in a crash Sunday. The crash also claimed the life of the woman’s unborn child.
Estep, 57, was traveling on Foley Beach Express when the fatal two-vehicle crash occurred just south of County Road 20. The Foley Police Department suspects alcohol played a role in a deadly wreck.

The FPD posted the following account on its Facebook page:
“On August 5, 2018, approximately 9:45 pm the Foley Police Department responded to Foley Beach Express just south of County Road 20 for a serious motor vehicle crash involving 2 vehicles. Vehicle 1, 2001 Mercury Villager driven by Debra K. Estep(57yo), traveling westbound on County Road 20 and turned northbound driving in the southbound lane, driving into oncoming traffic. Vehicle 2 was driving northbound on the Foley Beach Express. The two vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane. The driver of vehicle 1 was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital, after extrication. The driver of vehicle 2 sustained minor injuries and the passenger of vehicle 2 was also airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital. Where she and her unborn child did not survive. source
Alcohol is suspected in the crash which is being investigated by the Foley Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Division.
The names of the victims are not being released to ensure all of next of kin have been notified.”
