CEDAR HILL, Mo. (THECOUNT) – A suspect is in custody after a woman was found dead on a porch in Jefferson County.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office officials told News 4 that a woman heard gunfire around 5:53 a.m. in the 8400 block of East View, in the Cedar Hills Lakes area, in Cedar Hill. When the woman went outside to investigate the noise, she reportedly was confronted by a next door neighbor who pointed a gun at her. The woman then went back to her house and called 911.

When sheriff’s officials arrived at the home, they saw a man sitting on the porch with a deceased woman at his feet. The man then pointed a gun at the deputies before going inside the home.
Around 7:30 a.m., Sheriff Dave Marshak said that SWAT was on the scene. According to the sheriff’s office, negotiators were working to bring the man out of the home.
The suspect was taken into custody around 11:10 a.m.
The relationship between the man and the deceased woman have not been released.
