LINCOLN, NE. (THECOUNT) — Jeremiah Cummings, of Lincoln, NE, has been identified as the motorcyclist killed at the conclusion of a high-speed police pursuit on Interstate 80, according to Nebraska State Patrol officials.
Cummings, 40, was the subject of a dangerous I-80 pursuit that began around 11 p.m. Saturday after a trooper observed a Honda sport bike motorcycle traveling eastbound at 110 mph.

The trooper commenced a traffic stop, however Cummings refused to pull over and instead attempted to flee the area. The roughly seven minute chase reached speeds of over 120 mph until Cummings lost control of his motorcycle near Greenwood and crashed at a high rate of speed.
After traveling through Waverly in excess of 80 mph, Cummings continued to flee eastbound into Cass County, reaching speeds of more than 120 mph. source
Cummings was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.
The incident remains under investigation.
