HOUSTON, TX. (THECOUNT) — Nicole Bertoldi, the Houston woman accused of causing a now fatal I-45, June 2 crash, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Bertoldi, 28, now faces new charges in connection with a wrong-way Gulf Fwy Houston, TX., crash after a man who was critically injured in the crash died.

Police say, 67-year-old Billy Ray Allen, a passenger in a Kia vehicle struck by Bertoldi, died in an area hospital following the crash and an arrest warrant was issued for Bertoldi.
Bertoldi’s wrong-way crash was followed days later by another serious wrong-way crash involving another young woman later charged as the offender.
Elizabeth Nichols, 22, was arrested following another wrong-way crash, this crash also on I-45 and like Bertoldi’s crash, it also involved a Kia. The crashes are not related.
Nichols is charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, which is a felony. She is pictured below in a smirking mugshot.
Bertoldi was initially charged with intoxicated assault, but after the victim died, her charges were upgraded to manslaughter on June 19.
